Förstärkning i damtruppen
* Hello Ylvi and welcome to Pan-Kristianstad!
- Thanks! This will be so fun! :)
* When did you start with orienteering? And why?
- I started when I was 12 years old, because my brother (Nico) has gotten into it through school and really enjoyed it so I wanted to try it as well.
* What are you doing more in life except focusing on the sport?
- I am studying sports, but only part time. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, playing board games and drinking Chai Latte.
* Like your brother and many other national team runners you are in the army? How is it in the Military for you with the training? Can you describe a training week now in Nov/Dec?
I‘m really glad that I have the opportunity to be a part of the military orienteering team and be a professional athlete. Especially during winter we have many camps together (in Austria as well as somewhere in the south) that are a mixture of cross country skiing, orienteering and running sessions. A normal training week during winter includes at least one running session per day (2-3 days with two sessions), three out of those are fast/tempo sessions plus two strength training sessions.
* Your biggest orienteering memory so far?
- Running the first leg of the Sprint Relay at my first World Championships in Denmark and having my dad commentate it for the austrian TV.
* What are you looking forward to next season?
- I am really looking forward to finally be joining a scandinavian club and hopefully being able to train and compete in Scandinavia more often. I am especially excited about running TioMila for the first time ever!
