* Hello Jana and welcome to Pan-Kristianstad!
- Thank you so much! I am very happy that I got the opportunity to run for this club.
* When did you start with orienteering? And why?
- I started orienteering relatively late at the age of 14, when I took this sport more as a fitness supplement to floorball, which I was playing at the time, and over time orienteering became my priority sport (I was also involved in canicross and currently I also do athletics and skyrunning).
* What are you doing more in life except focusing on the sport?
- I am currently studying physiotherapy at the 1st Faculty of Medicine in Prague, which takes quite a lot of my time. But when I have free time, I really like to visit cafes or spend time with friends.
* Can you describe a training week now in Nov/Dec?
- Since I'm not very good at cross-country skiing, my weekly preparation is mainly based on running or strength training. I mostly do interval and tempo training during the week, as I am preparing for the athletics indoor season. In addition to these training sessions, I also do longer, slower runs or fartleks.
* Your biggest orienteering memory so far?
- It's hard for me to pick just one, but for sure the biggest experience was when I ran for the first time at the World Championships in Scotland last year among adults I used to look up to. But I certainly also like to remember my junior years, when in one year I managed to win the first leg of the relays both at the Junior World Championship and at the Academic World Championship, and I was able to run into the arena by myself to the cheering of the fans.
What are you looking forward to next season?
- I'm looking forward to being able to finally run TioMila after 7 long years and taste the insidious Scandinavian terrain. At the same time, I am looking forward to the sprint part of the season, when I would like to catch up for some good result in the World Cup or I would like to be nominated for the World Games.
